The Hand Foot Art
TaeKwonDo is a traditional art of self-defense that originated in Korea. It is recognized as one of the oldest forms of martial arts in the world, reaching back over 2,000 years. The name was selected for its appropriate description of the art: Tae (foot), Kwon (hand), Do (art). It is a discipline that shows ways of enhancing our spirit and life through training our body and mind. TaeKwonDo is about taking one aspect of fighting, in this case, kicking, to its highest potential. It's about controlling distance, catching the other fighter when they back up, putting kicks together in combination, and using loose speed and deception to never let your opponent settle into his own rhythm.
